The rectus abdominis muscle, ordinarily referred to equally the abs, are oft viewed equally a gauge of concrete fitness. If the abdominal muscles are visible on the outside of the body, it means that the muscles themselves are toned and that the trunk does not harbor an excess of fatty.
The abdominal muscles consist of three muscular sheets - the external and internal obliques and the transverse abdominis. The rectus abdominis supplement these muscles.
Many comic volume heroes and villains brandish "cut" or highly visible intestinal muscles. Beach goers and bodybuilders often have this quality as well.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Drawing Abs
ane. Draw a long, curved line. This outlines the bottom of the pectoralis major, the chest muscle usually referred to equally "pecs."
two. Draw a second curved line aslope the first, outlining the remaining pectoral musculus.
3. Depict a long curved line descending from one of the pecs. This outlines the side of the trunk, or stomach.
4. Describe an inverted "Y" shaped line just below the pecs. This outlines the showtime section of the rectus abdominis or abs muscles.
5. Describe two overlapping curved lines to grade the side by side section of the abs.
6. Draw a vertical curved line below the previous section of the abs, and two curved lines to outline the next section of the abs.
7. Describe a short curved line descending from the abs, and then draw a minor circle beneath it. This forms the belly button. Then, draw two curved lines beneath it in a curved "V" shape. This completes the last section of the ab muscles.
eight. Draw two curved lines, overlapping with ane another and with the side of the pec muscle. This forms the bottom of the muscular arm. So, draw a long, curved line to enclose the remaining side of the torso.
nine. Depict a "U" shaped line near the bottom of each of the pectoral muscles, indicating the presence of the nipple. So, draw diagonal curved lines across the side of the torso. These could indicate ribs or the external obliques, another musculus often classed under the term "abs." Draw curved lines at the base of the body to outline the tops of the hips. Then, draw a pair of curved lines between these to indicate the junction of the legs and the body.
